LIFE ON THE INSIDE

April 2020

Greetings friends.

Checking in as we all learn to cope in these days of COVID-19. I hope you are doing all you can to stay well as we work through this unimaginable pandemic.

Such a strange time with so much suffering juxtaposed against such inspiring stories of unity, heroism and strength. As an artist and now a farmer in the age of COVID-19, I’ve always looked at that space in between the extremes as a creative ecosystem of chaos, beauty, horror and discovery. It definitely leads to reflection.

Maybe we share some of the same questions and ideas I’ve been pondering. I’d be interested in hearing where you are.

For me they are:

  • time to connect with myself
  • time to connect with family
  • moments of extreme gratitude
  • moments of asking when is this all going to end!
  • how do I stay healthy?
  • how do I make sure my family stays healthy?
  • how do I help my community?

One thing I do know is … as long as the sun keeps shining and the grass keeps growing — land and animals thrive. We all thrive because we are all connected. It may not that feel that way now but it will again.

Eggs and sausage breakfast fresh from the farm harvest

For now remember, nutrient dense foods cultivated with love is hands down the best thing you can do for yourself and your family. We are now accepting reservations for our June pork harvest. Our American Guinea Hogs are pasture raised and yield a richly flavorful meat.

Our meat is prepared by one of the last USDA meat processors left in the state of Oregon and specializes in providing service to small and midsize ranchers in the Pacific Northwest. The plant is organic certified by Oregon Tilth, Animal Welfare Approved, GAP4 Certified and implements one of the most Robust Systematic Approaches to the Humane Handling of Livestock. All very important in this heightened time of concern for the integrity of our meat handling.

à santé. To your health! Stay well.
